WWE RAW 10 October 2022 - Season Premiere Recap


• At the Gorilla Position, Shawn Michaels, X-Pac & Road Dogg are talking about if they are ready. 

They look over to Triple H, who is seated in his spot with glasses on. 

Triple H says they have sponsors to worry about and can’t do what they normally do. No cursing, no talking about genitals, etc.

Road Dogg asks if they can say “penis,” but Triple H declines him. Shawn Michaels starts cursing in frustration. 

Triple H asks who put the “cocks” on his desk. The camera pans over to see four rubber chickens. 

Triple H gets frustrated and begins cursing, so others walk off. 

• The Bloodline makes their way to the ring. The crowd loudly boos them, but then chants for Sami Zayn.

Roman Reigns tells Brooklyn, New York to acknowledge him. 

Reigns says his father told him: the loudest in the room is also the weakest in the room.

If you’re the weakest in this room and part of this Bloodline, that just makes you a fool. Reigns asks Jey Uso if he’s a fool. 

Jey sneers in anger before looking up at his cousin. Sami interrupts, but Paul Heyman yells at him for interrupting The Tribal Chief. 

Reigns silences Heyman. A “Sami” chant picks up. Zayn says Reigns told him Friday that Jey Uso is his problem now. 

As the Honorary Uce, he’d love to handle this whole situation. Reigns smiles and says Sami really is the Honorary Uce. 

Reigns lets him have at Jey. Another loud “Sami” chant picks up. Sami walks up to Jey and says they all love him.

Jey cannot believe this is happening. Sami says they feel like Jey’s behavior as of late just hasn’t been very “Ucey.” An “Ucey” chant picks up. 

Sami points to how everyone loves Jimmy Uso and how he has such a great smile, and how can you not love Solo Sikoa.

Sami says they’re all pretty cool. They just need Jey to be cool. Jey looks at Reigns. Reigns says don’t look at me. 

Jey asks Reigns if this is a joke, if he’s ribbing him. Sami interrupts Jey and says he hates to be this guy, but Jey kind of… BRO!

Matt Riddle comes out and talks about defeating Seth Rollins.

Riddle says he knows they had a stipulation where he couldn’t challenge Reigns for the title again, but how about one more time in New York? 

Reigns asks Brooklyn if Riddle should get one more chance tonight. Yes. Reigns then says, “Nah!” A deal is a deal. 

Riddle says if Reigns won’t step up to the plate, maybe one of his Bloodline bros will. A “Sami” chant picks up again. 

Sami says, “Ok, yeet, my dog.” Sami asks Riddle if he thinks he’s funny. Riddle says, “Yeet.” 

Sami says Riddle cannot say “yeet” because that's a Bloodline thing. Sami doesn’t ever want to hear him say it again. Riddle says, “Yeet.” 

Jey says Riddle is lowkey disrespecting him. Sami challenges Riddle to a match tonight. Riddle says, “I accept… yeet!”

• Johnny Gargano def. Austin Theory (8:50).

Grade: B

• Rey Mysterio def. Chad Gable (7:50).

Grade: B+

Post-match, Dominik Mysterio gets in the ring and challenges his father. Rey declines and goes to leave, but Rhea Ripley is on the apron.

Dominik again challenges his father and shoves him a few times. Dominik slaps him and screams at Rey to hit him.

Rey instead attacks Damian Priest getting on the apron. 

Finn Bálor runs in, but Rey hits a head-scissor that knocks him into Dominik by accident.

Rey knocks down Priest & Balor and goes for a 619, but Dominik clotheslines Rey. The crowd chants, “You suck”. 

Dominik begs Rey to hit him. Rey looks like he’s in tears. Rey turns his back, but Dominik attacks him from behind.

Ripley holds him on the middle rope and Dominik hits Rey with a 619.

• The Judgment Day is in the ring. Bálor brags about how he made Edge say that he quit. 

Ripley is wearing a memorial armband for Beth Phoenix. Dominik starts to speak, but the crowd loudly boos him. 

Dominik says watching Rhea in action smash Edge’s wife… the crowd is so loud they cut him off. 

Dominik then talks about how Rey deserves to feel as useless and as helpless as he’s made him feel his entire life.

Bálor says that brings him to “Uncle Allan,” AJ Styles. Bálor wants to offer AJ Styles an ultimatum.

AJ Styles interrupts. Styles says there comes a time in a man’s life when he needs friends and family. Bálor motions that he is Styles’ family. 

Styles says he’s looked out for Bálor since Japan. Styles bows to Bálor on one knee.

Bálor pulls Styles up and embraces him. The crowd loudly boos. Bálor says he’s proud of Styles. Styles says he wasn’t talking about him.

Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson come out to a massive pop! The OC is back! 

The Good Brothers stand with Styles in the ring. Crowd chants, “Holy shit,” and the audio keeps cutting out. 

The OC attacks the Judgment Day. Ripley kicks Anderson in the head, but Anderson recovers to beat Dominik.

Bálor is left alone with the OC at the end, so he runs away. The OC stands tall and they "too sweet" each other.

• Backstage, Byron Saxton is with Damage CTRL. Dakota Kai says Bayley brought her back from rock bottom.

So Kai would do anything for her girls, but can you say the same about Alexa Bliss, Asuka or Bianca Belair? 

Kai says they will stop at nothing until Bayley holds the gold she rightly deserves. IYO SKY speaks in Japanese. 

Bayley says Sky talked about beating Candice’s ass.

• Roman Reigns is leaving the arena with Paul Heyman & Solo Sikoa.

Jey Uso comes up to him, but Reigns says he doesn’t have time since they’re heading into the city. 

Jey thinks he’s coming, but Reigns tells him he’s staying. Whatever Sami Zayn does, Jey has to be there.

Reigns tells Jey to make sure Honorary Uce wins his match. Jey calls for Solo to stay with him but Reigns says Solo is rolling with him tonight.

• Candice LeRae def. Bayley via roll-up (6:05).

Grade: C+

Post-match, Damage CTRL attacks LeRae. Bianca Belair runs down, but gets outnumbered.

• It's time for The Miz's Birthday Celebration. Maryse is in the ring, which is decorated with a table full of gifts and an ice sculpture of Miz. 

She then introduces The Miz. Miz gets an autographed bat from a Cleveland Guardians player.

Next, she gives him two big balls for his bat. Fans interrupt with "tiny balls" chant. Miz grabs another gift, and Dexter Lumis’ head is under it. 

Miz takes the bat and swings it at the table, but Lumis has already disappeared. Lumis appears from behind and applies Anaconda Vice on Miz.

Miz kicks to defend himself and accidentally knocks Maryse into the cake. Miz manages to escape and run off, leaving his wife in the ring. 

Maryse, covered in cake, is furious and leaves. 
Lumis grabs a knife and deflates the two big balls.

Fans chant “eat the cake” and Lumis obliges to a big pop.

• Backstage, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg &  X-Pac are talking to two jobbers. They sarcastically pump them up to destroy Omos. 

The Miz & Maryse walks up to them with his deflated balls. Miz wants to talk to Triple H about what Lumis did to his massive gifts. 

Michaels says he knows Lumis. He’s a good guy, just kind of quiet. 

Michaels says Lumis doesn’t just go for anybody, Miz must have done something to piss him off. 
Miz says he’d do anything to get rid of Lumis. 

Road Dogg suggests that Miz vs. Lumis for next week. If Miz wins, Lumis disappears forever.

If Miz loses, Lumis keeps Miz’s massive gifts and gets a contract. Michaels asks if he has the balls to take the offer. Miz accepts.

• 2-on-1 Handicap Match: Omos def. Robert Adams & Joseph Torres (1:20).

Grade: C-

• Bobby Lashley gets in the ring and says he has defeated some of the best in the business, like Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar, and now he has Seth Rollins, who thinks it’s ok to sneak up on him. 

BROCK LESNAR’S music hits and the building explodes. Cowboy Brock, wearing an AC/DC t-shirt, picks up a microphone.

Lesnar says, “Well, holy shit!” Lesnar wishes Brooklyn a good evening and approaches Lashley smiling. 

Lesnar suddenly grabs Lashley and gives him an F5. The crowd chants, “One more time,” and Lesnar obliges.

The crowd wants it one more time. Lesnar smiles and puts Lashley in the Kimura Lock and then walks off.

• Medics are tending to Lashley to ringside. Seth Rollins comes out with his ribs taped up. Rollins wants the match now. 

Rollins says Lashley is supposed to be a soldier but he’s not, he’s a disgrace to the title and the country. 

Lashley gets offended, so he walks to the ring and orders to ring the bell.

• Rollins immediately hits him with a Pedigree. Lashley kicks out at 2. Rollins nails the top rope Frogsplash but Lashley still kicks out. 

Rollins goes for a Stomp but Lashley hits a Spear. Lashley goes for The Hurt Lock but Rollins fights him off.

Rollins with a rolling elbow, then a superkick, another rolling elbow and then a Stomp. 

The crowd sings him theme as Rollins nails another big Stomp for the pin.

Seth Rollins def. Bobby Lashley to become the new United States Champion (2:35).

Grade: B-

• Backstage, Bobby Lashley says he’ll get his title back soon, but he’s going to deal with Lesnar first. 

Lashley challenges Lesnar to show up on Raw next week so he can show the Beast that he’s nothing but a bitch.

• A Bray Wyatt video airs with distorted images of the mask he wore at Extreme Rules. 

His distorted voice talks about how he used to think the prison in his head was the only place he could truly be free. 

The promo ends with the Wyatt laughing and saying “revel in what you are!” over and over.

• Elias returns to Raw next week.

• Matt Riddle def. Sami Zayn (16:15).

Grade: B+

• “Are you ready?” 

D-Generation X makes their way to the ring in a tank. They throw some glowsticks into the crowd.

X-Pac gives a shoutout to “The 9th Wonder of the World” Chyna. 

Road Dogg goes through his usual shtick and has the crowd say, “The Badd Ass Billy Gunn” part. 

Corey Graves mentions he’s somewhere else talking about hardware. Road Dogg calls them “D-Geriatric X.”

Triple H thanks the crowd for 25 great years of DX and asks who was watching them 25 years ago.

Triple H has one thing to know – Are you ready? No, Brooklyn… Are You Ready? 

“For the thousands in attendance and the millions watching at home, and for 25 years we would like to say thank you and we love you all.”

Triple H has to stop and catch his breath before finishing the “let’s get ready to suck it!” line.

HBK speaks and the crowd chants for him. HBK says if they’re out here in 25 more years to put them out of their misery. 

Of course, if you’re not down with that, they’ve got two words for ya…suck it. DX poses to end the show.
